How to Draw Sneakers – Let’s Get Started!
Step 1
We’ll start with the shoe design in this step of our guide on how to draw lurkers. In the guide, we’ll draw one shoe, but you’ll have the tools to draw another one at the end of the guide. For now, we’ll trace the front of the shoe upper. You can begin with a rounded triangular shape for the front of the shoe.
Then two curved lines below will form the front of the shoe’s sole. Finally, we’ll use a jagged line that goes up from the front of the shoe. It will be irregular because it will be the outline of the laces later. Once you’ve replicated these details, you’re ready for the next part!
Step 2
In this dual part of drawing your sneakers, we’ll finish the outline of the sneakers so you can begin adding some details. First, using the reference image as a guide, you can draw an extended lacing that goes down near the top of the shoe and continues down.
Then use a few more slightly curved lines to complete the thick base of the shoe. Finally, you can finish the design of the back and upper part of the shoe, as shown in the reference image. Then go to step 3!
Step 3
This step in our guide on drawing lurkers may seem tricky, but it’s not as complicated as it sounds! We’ll be drawing the laces in this part, which may seem complicated because of how the laces cross over each other. All you have to do is draw a few curved bars to make the thick laces, each topping in a slightly rounded line due to the holes in it. Persist. Look closely at the image as you draw; it will help position the laces.
Step 4
We will continue adding some details to the drawing of your sneakers in this next step. To do this, we’ll draw some curved lines coming down from around the top of the shoe and down to the base. These bars will also go around the spots where the laces go in and out.
Some little line details will also be counted to the shoe’s base. Once you’ve added these lines, you’ll be ready to add some final details in the next step of the guide, so let’s move on!
Step 5
In this fifth step of our focus on drawing sneakers, we’ll add some final details to end this drawing. We will show you some decorative elements we chose, but you can also draw some extra ones. Your details if you wish! First, we added a circle with a star for the first decorations.
We added small circles and rectangles throughout the shoe and additional line details. We’re after this, but you could add some details and elements! You could also draw a background or take what you learned in this guide and draw a second sneaker next to it. Before coloring it in the next step, what ideas will you use for this drawing?
Step 6
Now you can relax with some coloring fun while you finish this picture! You can add some colors to your fantastic image. We chose orange, blue, and gray for our example, but this is a suggestion for coloring this image! It would help to let your creativity and imagination run wild for this—image to bring it to life.
You can make the colors bright, bold, subtle, muted, or combine both! Once you know what colors you’d like to use, it’s just a matter of choosing what art mediums you’ll use to bring the colors to life. You can use acrylic paints or colored pens for a brighter look or something like watercolors and colored pencils for something more subdued.
